Everywhere he goes, Sam sees them. He doesn't really see them with his eyes but he knows they're there. Here too, he sees them when they're here. I don't like Sam coming here. Dog gets upset when Sam is here. Then Sam starts barking too. When I ask why, he says it takes two, doesn't it always, to chase them off. A barking man's what really gets them going. They think they're headed off to hell without passing go but in the end Sam says he's sorry, there is no hell but by then, you see, they've gone too far and are too far gone. Sam says he's done this all his life. They know Sam can't really see them, that it's all a game but they like the guy, plain and simple and want the best for him. Everyone does. So they play along. Everyone does.
